Moon 26/27.12.2017

Here are two photos of Moon, one from 26th of december and the other one from 27th. The phase on 26th was 54% and on 27th 64%. This phase is called Waxing Gibbous :) synta 6" on dobson mount, Canon EOS 1300D. Of course, near Warsaw's border. ISO and exposure time doesn't really matters as it depends on exact moment and place :/ I also tried catching earthshine, but with no success... Earthshine is earths light reflected on Moon which makes the unlighten side visible a tiny bit. I will try using something like a coronograph to hide lighten side next time (idea I got today, not sure if it's gonna work)

Hello! In Last post I said I will try catching ISS again soon and I did! Today, for the first time I tried catching it thru my telescope and I succeed! As for the first time I think it turned out great! Of course it's nothing like the other pics of ISS but still good for begginning! :D Those are two best frames I got :) Camera: Canon 1300d (not phone! Turns out I get similar quality and zoom with DSLR on full res as with my most powerful eyepiece and phone!) Need to focus..: Eastern Veil Nebula - 10/08/2024

  Hello there! Today I'm showing you a picture that originally I wasn't even gonna bother processing, and I've basically marked this folder off as a throwaway in my head. That is because the day after capturing this back in August, I've noticed how horribly out of focus it was.. However, I've recently purchased a BlurXterminator license - a plugin for PixInsight which automatically deconvolves an image to sharpen it up. I've honestly not expected it to work on this dataset, but to my surprise it did! Of course it doesn't make the imaeg good by any means haha, but it at least makes it *passable* 😅 Here is the raw, autostretched stack to show off how out of focus it was originally (notice the diffraction spikes not lining up as well as clear donut shapes, especially noticible bottom left)     And here is the final image! A little bit of spin: Jupiter (12min of rotation) - 11/08/2024

Hi again! Today we've got a rare occasion where there's not just an image - but a video! After imaging deepsky thruout the night on August 10th/11th last year, I configured my scope for planetary and pointed it towards Jupiter before disassembling the rig. This was just as the Sun was rising, it was very interesting trying to see Jupiter for as long as possible before it disappeared in the daylight! Due to this, you can also see the background of the video get brighter over time :) I ended up grabbing data across about 12 minutes with my random brand-less 2x barlow, individual frames were processed in AstroSurface (which I've been liking a lot!), and then put together into a video with PIPP! I'm honestly surprised just how much Jupiter rotates in just 12 minutes! When I took the data, I didn't even think about putting it together into an animation, but now that I'm processing my old data I thought I'd try it!
