A little bit of spin: Jupiter (12min of rotation) - 11/08/2024

Hi again!

Today we've got a rare occasion where there's not just an image - but a video!

After imaging deepsky thruout the night on August 10th/11th last year, I configured my scope for planetary and pointed it towards Jupiter before disassembling the rig. This was just as the Sun was rising, it was very interesting trying to see Jupiter for as long as possible before it disappeared in the daylight! Due to this, you can also see the background of the video get brighter over time :)

I ended up grabbing data across about 12 minutes with my random brand-less 2x barlow, individual frames were processed in AstroSurface (which I've been liking a lot!), and then put together into a video with PIPP!

I'm honestly surprised just how much Jupiter rotates in just 12 minutes! When I took the data, I didn't even think about putting it together into an animation, but now that I'm processing my old data I thought I'd try it!

Hope you enjoy it:
